Mosso, I want a refund!

by Tim on February 27, 2007

Well it's been a week since I tried out Mosso. It was very promising, but it didn't go the way I thought it would. I think all the publicity online has created too much interest in too short a period.

The problems I encountered:

A) Support - They are always there, but it seemed to take a long time for replies. That is, after I signed up.

B) Creating Sites - I'm used to being able to click "Add website" and get it instantly. They've been having a different issues with it. My latest problem is adding a site, getting the MySQL database setup, and 2 days later the account isn't completely setup.. The HTTP/FTP part wasn't there..

C) Website Load Time - Yeah I was getting a 5 second delay/latency. And so were many people I had test it out.

So while Mosso was a great idea, it isn't for me. I'll stick with a dedicated server.

Yeah. You still have my closet server for testing the MySQL 5 and PHP5 stuff though. :)

you left in time. this week we are getting no mail. any no response from anyone in customer support or the founders. very spotty service and I think doomed. good concept but porr delivery and false marketing. not more reliable than a dedicated server. looking for an alternative now…
