So I added TextAds to StartXchange almost 2 weeks ago now, and today I decided to try something new.. When you type in the text chat and submit a message, it'll update the TextAd as well.
My thinking is after you send a message, usually you wait to see if there is a reply. So the new TextAd should catch your attention more. And if you just sent a message, chances are you weren't interested in the ad previously there.
Will be interesting to see how this plays with results. I've seen this kind of ads changing on Pandora, where the ads stay the same until you click pause or thumb up or down a song etc. It's a great idea because then you aren't paying for new impressions unless you know the person is interacting with the page!

Innovative thinking if only everyone had the chat on. Still reckon the text ads will get more views on the bottom surfbar. Bonus 4 u Tim is if they ran on both sides you are burning them off twice as quick.

Thought about that, but the bottom bar isn’t really grabbing too much attention IMO.. But I might be willing to try it..

Can you put in your Twitter username and follow everyone on that list – 65 of them – or do you have to that manually, one by one.
Its too easy to miss one in that list – they all starting looking the same after awhile. Where the machine??

When I compare the text ads and banner ads on other traffic exchanges I see a very very low clickthru rate. Actually I liked StartXchange more because you did not bother with something which has little benefit. Perhaps I am wrong?
