Trying out Hits Connect

You may be shocked about what I’m going to admit. I’ve never actually given Hits Connect a real try. I tried it once or twice but never really got into it. It’s simple really, I am so used to building every tool my own way exactly how I want it. So since Hits Connect didn’t have the layout I was thinking in my head, I didn’t use it.
I’ve been tracking clicks on my splash pages for a long time, but I decided to start tracking signups and which exchange is bringing them. I had been messing with my own code, but to be honest it was utterly confusing. So I decided to try out Hits Connect for real.
I installed the conversion tracking code so now you can “Auto Append Campaign ID” to just about any URL on StartXchange and it’ll work. Next I’m going to be updating my URLs in all the exchanges. I’ll post sometime later and let you know the results!

I am very interested to read about your results Tim.
I have been thinking about testing Hits Connect myself. I never found a unbiased review of it, and I had a lot of other products I wanted to test, and I guess I forgot all about it :-)

Hi Tim!
I too am looking forward to seeing your results.
I really like reading your blog, you always have something interesting
and useful for me to read and apply!
I have a question. What do you mean by:
“now you can “Auto Append Campaign ID†to just about
any URL on StartXchange and it’ll work”?
Thanks!

I am very interested in information which I can have here.
About surfing on TS25. Last month its was realy difficult surf there. Lot of PopUnder saites coming with vieving saites. Sometimes my PC start to slow and I click on correct number ,but timer show me *wrong number*, than not possible to work. Within 1 hour I have loose more as 54 credits.
But self TS25 is a very good TE with responsive admin and support.
Its lot of depends from self memders. If we start as a members and stay with TE for long time and like it, we must keep its clean and clear , like a self house where we all is a one bige famely.
Tim, if in future in SX we also have possibility to truck our URL it will be great.
About using of TE by international members. For members to whom English language not
thay speaking language is difficult surf on TE where is a different questions about the US history, jocks, and so .. . Ali inside that kind TE is well but not for members from Europe, Western Europe,Scandinavia. But from that are just coming lot of new members and thay is 70% new in online.
Its can be good ad in members area some tutorials - how set up rotators ……..
Sorry for bad Eanglish.

Lucie - If you create a campaign on HitsConnect with your StartXchange referral link (or splash page link) and select that feature, then when a new user signs up HitsConnect will log it inside your campaign. This is useful if you do a user parameter for each exchange, it will then show you which exchanges are sending you the signups to StartXchange. Without this feature, you wouldn’t be able to do it unless you owned the signup thank you page =P
Margareta - Thanks for the feedback! I utilize many tools to keep surfing clean on StartXchange, but of course you are right it comes down to the members! If they keep clean sites in, and report bad sites, surfing is smoooth =P

Hi Tim,
I use Hits Connect and it gives you a lot of data. However, I think I get into Data Overload! Once you get some stats what would be useful is if you could tell us how you retrieve your stats and what they mean.
Thanks,
