This was a skribit suggestion that a viewer posted, and it was one I could dive into without too much time involved. Basically my thoughts are that traffic exchanges will generally be the same for quite some time. There might be a few gimmicks here and there, but the actual core of it will be the same.
The whole idea revolves around the traffic at a low cost. If you don't have money, you can surf. It's a great starting point, and it's effective. The hardest part is the getting results part. It can happen, but that's where you actually have to work! Surfing you don't have to think about or know anything, but getting results that's where you need to do some research to find out what works!
If you are struggling in this area, here's a free way to do some research! Sign up to the offers that catch your attention while surfing! I know I've done, and you should be too! You can learn a ton about the whole process and if you take notes on what things worked for you, you can improve on your own process.
So I guess I don't see the traffic exchanges themselves changing, but I do see the users changing. I've noticed that lately there is more help than ever before available to make you successfull and profitable. Take advantage of it!

Very interesting question.
I have been on and off Traffic Exchanges for a while, and that’s because of the results. I find it hard to attract people to my landing pages, sometimes it works, but then I just can’t seem to understand why it worked :)
Now, I am wondering if it’s possible just to drive traffic to the mainpage of my blog, and if doing that will help me get more readers?
Anyway. I find it hard to get good results and understand why not.
So, I just ordered the book that Jon Olson wrote. Not sure if it’s any good, but I am going to read it and see if I can find the answer :)
Hey fellas,
I think you are right, traffic exchange at it’s most basic is people sharing traffic. It’s a great system because it meets the needs of people just starting out – and people who already have big lists etc who want to expand.
The book, I have to say, is great. Jon has put all of the information out there for you to use. I actually grabbed it after I had been running an exchange for a while, so most of the lingo I was familiar with – but having it in hard copy was really useful to refer to.
I have been using traffic exchanges since they started on line, back in the days of NoMoreHits..and even StartXchange. They work for many reasons, but attracting leads is a function of your lead capture page. I find traffic exchanges to be a great audience, and using a good variety of them will target different users.
