Traffic Competition, Day 5!

Wow! That’s all I can say. I thought StartXchange would do good, but I didn’t think it would scoop up 35% of the votes! You can see the full stats here. It’s only day 5, so things can change. There is plenty more time for people to vote.

What do you think about the competitions? Did the fact that your email address is required make you not vote? There were a handful of owners that dropped out after they realized you had to input your email address. I can understand their thoughts, they don’t want another mailing list competition with their users.

However, I only plan on sending 1, maybe 2 emails to the list.  The first time when the winners are announced, and a second time if a second contest begins. Afterwards I’ll be deleting the list. It is interesting to note that had the contest been monetized in some way (special offers) those owners would have agreed. I’m not against that so I’ll be looking into ways of doing that for the future.
