The Woe’s of Traffic Delivery

Traffic was flying out the door on StartXchange. Now it seems to be 50% of the rate you set. When it was flying, I could deliver the rate you wanted. In fact, I had to give away a bunch of traffic to keep sites in rotation.

Well I sent out some PMs explaining to those who had their rate set low, to turn them up if they wanted more. Now that could be part of the reason for delivery being slower..

Then again, there was The 7 Day Challenge where I was giving out 100 credits for the first 100 pages viewed each day. That was on top of the ratio, so upgraded members were getting at least 2 hits for every 1 site viewed (in the first 100). That definitely helped.

This is the balancing act of a traffic exchange owner. How do I increase sales, but keep delivery fast? How do I get people to surf, while not giving out too much? Over the years I’ve learned different ways to do both.
