I usually forget about banners, but Steve Ayling recently launched a site called Buckets Of Banners. He was just in Affiliate Funnel talking about how important banners are. I totally forgot..
So I of course grabbed the imagery from my splash page and made a banner with it to match. It's not the best banner, but it's got my photo and that bright orangeness so it should do some branding. Oh yeah, my name too.
This is my official notice to remind you guys as well. Banners may not get as many clicks, but they still do the branding that will help when your splash page comes up in rotation. And you still do get some clicks, so you will get some results directly from them.
If you haven't checked it out yet, also check out Buckets of Banners. It's essentially a banner traffic exchange. Not a banner exchange, not a traffic exchange. You'd have to sign up and see for yourself to understand =P

Great banner for branding, Tim, well done! My experience shows that people who click on banners are more interested, therefore more likely to buy or sign up. I use them. I am a member of Buckets of Banners, and it’s a great place to advertise!

I see the banners job of getting people familuar with you and your site/biz even if people do not click on them. Also they are cheap! The Buckets of banners is needed because when you place a banner,if you make ONE mistake, the banner must be put in all over again!

As was mention at the conference this afternoon. When someone takes the time to click on your banner that says that they are really interested in what is being advertised. That’s the only time I click them. Conclusion banner advertising is not dead it does work.
You hit the nail on the head Tim. Banners are great, especially if you have a log or name attached like Jimmy said- They may not get clicks at first, but keep the credits on them and it’s surprising how effective they can be. Earle
Great point to make a matching banner, Tim, because banner advertising is alive and well. It is my favorite way to brand myself…and, buckets of banners is well worth people’s effort as well. Bulls-eye on this one!
