Jens,
That is a great idea too. I would definitely be impressed to learn how he manages family and work! Well, anyone for that matter.

My point is the testing part.

I would also have joined because of the extra info, but I would probably also try another interesting approach. What if Tim wrote something about him being a dad and a loving husband, give us info on how much time he spends doing that a day, and still being able to work fulltime online.

I would think that many would be impressed and would like to learn the secrets.

I disagree. As a TE owner and someone who has to design their own site being a work at home mom, I like that you have included the extra info. TE members are not all just about the TE, they are advertising their businesses, whether that be another TE, or a bath and body shop. So I personally think it is good to include the other things you do because I might not have subscribed otherwise! It wasn't necessarily your TE expertise that 'got' me. It was the whole package. Just my 2 cents. :0)

I agree, testing two different ones would be the best.

If you promise too much, people might unsubscribe... but if you promise "too little" you won't get that many subscribers :-)

Great example and I agree that this is how a splash page should be.

I think it`s important to use your photo, but what I am a little curious about is that why you are not focusing even more on how much you know about traffic exchanges.

The splash page is only showing on traffic exchanges, therefore all the people who will see it are people using traffic exchanges. You might not know much about them except that they are using traffic exchanges in order to get more traffic to a website.

I would probably focus more on what you know they are interested in, and the only thing you know that they are interested in is traffic exchanges and how to get more traffic to their website.

You write that you cover topics like PHP programming and webservers, but is that something you should put on your splash page targeted at people using traffic exchanges? I am not sure, maybe it is. You are honest about what you write about, and that might be the clue here...

Everybody else seems to be focusing on helping people to get rich or to get tons of traffic.

Keep up the great work!
