Yes fear of failure is a big hurdle; however I think there are still many logistical hurdles, such as lack of capital, that hold people back in many ventures. So fear of failure should be qualified as the biggest hurdle when everything else is in place. And yes fear of failure is big, but rebuilding from past failures is also a big hurdle that many people face too. Nonetheless, it is true there is always hope for successful in future endeavors and fear should never hold anyone back.

This is so true and loved reading all the comments left - yep you have to "Get Yer Done" Don't go thru life wondering if you could - never going to know if you don't try - and you will make mistakes but that is how you learn and how things get better - just get back on that horse when you fall off and keep riding - you'll love the rewards at the end. So so true. I wasn't always a successful traffic exchange owner. I've owned a total of 5 exchanges over the years plus my newest one. I stumbled the first few times and fell but at least I tried. I could have took a shortcut and bought a established successful traffic exchange like Jon Olson did with ILoveHits and Paul Kinder did with TrafficSplash but I decided to do it the hard way and build a membership from scratch. Every traffic exchange I started I gained more experience but not all were successful. Only Traffic Experts and Traffic Heroes were successes both still around and both I sold. The other 3 failed but I enjoyed building them anyway and I learned from my mistakes.

Tim you started from scratch and hit a home-run out of the ballpark and have been the only owner of your exchange. I have always admired you for that but I am sure you have had business that failed. We all have, experience is the best way to learn and I don't regret anything I have done along the way!

My new exchange relaunches in a couple weeks. Look for the announcement!

Like for example, if you have always wanted to run your own traffic exchange but you cannot get any JV and don’t have a list (because you didn’t build your list when you get started online), so what do you do?

JUST DO IT!

Sure, the growth will be pretty slow but hey, satisfaction is where you see members signing up from your own effort and getting payment from those members who appreciate your service.

And even if you fail, SO WHAT? Many successful people failed before they get to be what they are today! That’s part of the learning curve.

That's it exactly, Tim! People look at the promise of something new, and it is at once exciting and scary. All too often they let the fear win. They don't realize it's absolutely okay to be at the beginning. You start with a first step. What happens after that only looks like failure if you choose to see it that way and quit before realizing the benefits of your experience. Great advice. Thanks for sharing. Failure is a natural part of the growth process. The difference between adults and babies is that babies always have someone cheering them on even when they fall. The fear of failure sets in later on when our parents or peers deride us when we fail an attempt at something. The key is "how we take it" The successful orientated person will just say "I'll show them" while others just fold their wings and never fly again.
