Interviewing 59 TE Owners

I thought it would be fun to contact a bunch of traffic exchange owners, and interview them. So I did! 59 Private Messages later, and I think it’ll be interesting! Here are the questions asked:

  1. How and when did your online business get started?
  2. Which exchange(s) do you own or co-own?
  3. Do you currently work exclusively online?
  4. How many hours per day do you spend on your exchange(s)?
  5. Do you do support yourself, or do you outsource support?
  6. How fluent are you with HTML, javascript, and PHP?
  7. Approximately how many members join your exchange a month?
  8. Does most of your advertising come from members referring, or you?
  9. Are you subscribed to any blogs? Which is your favorite?
  10. What would be the biggest tip you could give to readers?

Now I don’t expect all 59 owners to reply, in fact, I doubt all will. I realize that many are busy, but for those that do reply..  They’ll get some free publicity and we’ll get to know them better. Oh, and I suppose I’ll answer the questions too, making it 60 TE Owners.

    What a neat idea! I find that personally, when it comes to TE owners/operators, I appreciate owners who ‘personalize’ their exchanges.Tim, I use you as an example because you’ve ‘personalized’ this exchange, with member photos, and a very active forum.

    I am in the process of starting my own traffic exchange so I find this topic interesting.
