Well I thought it would be interesting to start tracking my rotators on each of these services. The goal was to see if mine was the best and if not to find ways to improve it so it is the best. Well lucky me it was, but this is only short term testing so I'll update you again in a month with additional data.

If you are interested in the Pingdom reports click here to view them. PIngdom allows me to make them public, and so you can see what I'm seeing. I totally recommend Pingdom for website monitoring!
Anyways, the tests are pretty simple. Each rotator has the services referral URL inside it, and I have Pingdom make an HTTP call every 5 minutes. It tracks if the site is up or down, and calculates the response time. It will also mark the site down if it takes longer than 30 seconds to respond (most browsers time out at that point) and even more interesting is I have it check for mysql errors which will also make it mark it as down.
Now if you aren't doing the last 2 checks, you really aren't monitoring. It doesn't matter if your server is online if the users can't use the website. MySQL errors typically happen when a programming error is made, but more often it's when the MySQL server is too busy to handle the request.
And finally it should be noted that during this testing period Hits Connect did have maintence time. I don't know how long exactly.
