Hacker Safe and Taguchi Testing

StartXchange is now Hacker Safe Certified and so I’ve decided to test out results on a splash page to see if displaying the image actually increases click throughs.

If you goto StartXchange Manual Traffic Exchange you’ll see 3 images. The Hacker Safe image, an image for E-Trust-E, and an image for the Hit Exchange News award.

While doing the testing for this splash page, I decided to also test the other images. I also started to learn about Taguchi Testing or Multivariate Testing, and I’m going to include that.

What is it? Taguchi is basically having multiple variables instead of the typical two in A/B testing. So with this test I have 3 headlines, 3 images, 3 body texts and 3 link texts. With the Taguchi method I only have to create 9 different splash pages, and then I can use a mathematical equation to determine which headline, which image, body text, and link text works best.

So I’ve created a script to track the clicks, and I’ve begun advertising it. I’ll post later when I’ve completed the test and let you know the results.
