Come Vote Surf!

Ok so Jens suggested a “hot or not” style voting for splash pages, and I integrated one into the StartXchange surfbar. So now while the timer is counting you can rate the pages from 1-5. You’ll even get extra activity points as you surf each time you rate! I’ve been surfing and I’m hooked! I haven’t been surfing much lately, and I think this might just be the thing to keep me going =P

    I have tested it and it works great. I have even been looking at my own ratings and I might have to do something with my splash page :)

    This is great, and it does take away some of the boredom. Though I can’t see rating the same sites when they pop up all the time, so the ones I rated will not be rated again unless I forgot which ones I rated. :)

    Barbara - Great idea! I now have it look to see if you rated it in the past. This won’t work for referral urls where the referral is different, but it will help some =P

    Great job Tim, I now have the opportunity to see what and who I voted for. Sometimes I voted wrong and now know. Also its great not to keep repeating the voting process. Well you can know for sure that we are fickle at times. :) :)

    I like this a lot.

    Studying voting behavior, can be very helpful to find out what splash would works or not.
    Members can also benefit from this knowledge in others TE’s.
