Setting Up Tracking For Your Pages

This has been the #1 question I’ve received for TEtoolbox, so it gets answered first. It’s pretty easy when you see it in action:

Allow Scripts & Video From TimLinden.com Please.

Tracking is crucial for getting results. You can think you are getting results at one exchange or another, but aren’t. And you could think that your hottest looking splash page is getting all the signups, but isn’t. So what happens when you delete that “poor” splash page that is actually your best performer? Hmmmm

    Good video Tim.

Have you thought about adding a section to TE Tool Box where you can put these videos for all TE Tool Box members to see?

Maybe you could even put videos other members made there as well as long as they do a good job explaining how to use a part of TE Tool Box.

    Just a thought…

    • Hey Chris
      completely agree with you.

We had to wait a lil while as Tim is “da man” for vids and he’s been up to his eyeballs with programming but….

watch this space! well, not this space, a space in the TET members area, in fact several spaces in the TET members area :-)

  3. what are you talking about?
    what squeeze page?

    You are talking gobbledegook pal

EXPLAIN IT SO PEOPLE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT…

ONLY YOU KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN

    Tracking can be so confusing.

I have been testing different titles on the same e-mail in ad exchanges.

At first there did seem to be a pattern people did not like one title but di another until I got to the best performer of them all that has a click through rate of 3 times any other ad exchange.

Then everything went into reverse and the previously most popular title got a click through rate of one third of the average and the previously most unpopular title got twice the average click through rate.

As for conversions all I can say is no conclusion. Actually just what I would have thought from my own behaviour I just don’t look at titles I am just looking for credits and it is which ad exchange or safe list I am most in need of credits from that gets my click.

If I happen to see something I want I may buy it. So perhaps I am more like the average after all.

I just wonder what all this tracking tells me after all?

I could tell more from one ad exchange last night. without any tracking.

After 4 solos on a variety of subjects the click through rate was 6. I deleted my account of course.

  5. Hi Tim

Great video, but I have a question for you.

My tracker is set up a butterfly site, so the aweber form redirects to the OTO, if I went down the url redirect would it effect the script and screw-up the affiliate tracking of the BM script?

At the moment I took the safe option and added the image code to the bottom of the OTO.

    Thanks

    Andrew

  6. Tim, thanks so much for posting this. I’ve re-read it several times in the last week or so and finally got a grasp on it. This has been something that’s been confusing me for a long time and nothing I did ever seemed to make it work. I watched this again tonight, put one particular spot on pause, went to TE Toolbox and set goal tracking on my TY page as you outlined, and went to test it – voila, it works! Finally the light is on, LOL.

Hope you’re feeling better and had a nice Thanksgiving, see ya @ TELive soon I’m sure.
