Neat Trick For Partners.. Or Nerds..

If you do joint programs with other people, you’ll sometimes find yourselves in a pickle: You want to promote something with your program, but two people own the program. Who’s referral link do you use? You could take turns, or you could create a new account that you both own, and split any commissions, but that’s no fun!

Introducing a hidden gem on TEToolbox: Tracker Referral ID Randomization!

OK so I made the name up, can you tell? But here’s what you do:

  1. Get the affiliate links for each partner.
  2. Create a new Tracker in TEtoolbox
  3. Replace the affiliate ID with all your IDs inside brackets []’s, separated by the pipe “|“:
    tetoolbox_trackrotate
  4. Create the Tracker

You can then use the tracker like any other tracker. The only difference is the tracker will pick one of the IDs randomly. In the example I’ve got the TEtoolbox referral link, with our 3 IDs: xxclixxx, paulkinder, realincome.

Now 98% of you won’t need to use this, but it’s there for those that would want to. It makes it a breeze to do joint emails and everyone get’s their fair share.

Two things to note: You don’t have to use it just for affiliate IDs, technically speaking you could use it for anything. And it’ll only find and replace it once. Feel free to experiment, but don’t come crying if it doesn’t do something uber geeky..

Geeks: I could so see this being used for load balancing or split testing or for just plain fun:
