So I'm in the process of writing an ebook, and I'd like to know what questions you still have. I have thousands of subscribers, but all of you subscribed at different times. Some of you know more of what I taught than others.
This ebook is going to be free to you subscribers. I'm not gonna do the whole charge for an ebook thing. I'm still on the fence about charging for "rebrand rights". I know people like that kind of thing but I'm not sure I'm sold on the idea yet.
Hey I got an idea, vote here, do you think I should sell rebrand rights? For those of you who don't know, that means you get to replace any referral links with your own inside the ebook. You get to give it to your list.
Back to the point: What questions do you still have? Please be as specific as possible!

1st – it really depends on exactly what links you put inside the e-book on whether or not I would want rebranding rights for it.
I would like to know your position and why you have that position when it comes to using one time offers after gaining a new subscriber. What I mean by that is have you found it more useful to set up say a squeeze or splash page in the traffic exchange rotation, grab the person’s e-mail, then try to immediately convert them to a sale, or do you let your auto-responder messages do the selling in the future? I’m about to jump into the testing stage myself, offering some sort of “ethical bribe” to get an e-mail, then immediately go for the one time offer sale so I can put together 2 lists – those that immediately bought which means I may be able to sell them higher ticket items and those who haven’t yet bought anything so I can try to convert them on a lower ticket item. Anyway, so my question would be what’s your opinion on converting traffic exchange subscribers immediately into buyers, is it useful in your opinion, any sort of testing done to support your opinion, and is there a higher conversion rate for additional affiliate products in the future?
Great idea re: the ebook! My question is how do you give it away for free then sell the rebrand rights? Enquiring minds want to know…tx
If Tim gives the e-book away for free any links inside the e-book will have his affiliate links. There are numerous ways Tim could pitch the rebrand rights (even inside the book itself) where people pay $X and they get the rebranding software to use on their own computer. The software then replaces Tim’s links with your own affiliate links allowing you to give it away to people and earn the commissions (or downlines) that result from clicks.
I just experimented at the weekend with giving away reveals rights and got me a lot more signips through branded links. Creates tons more value for users and hopefully exponentially more viral. Love freemium.

Unless I’ve missed something, I’m not sure of the subject of your ‘work in progress’ ebook.
If it’s in the TE or IM niche, then if I were you, I’d sell rebrand rights. It’s a win win. You being a business man make money and your customers (those SX members who purchase your offer) can go viral with the book.

Hi, Tim if i were you, i would suggest 2 methods to rebrand the ebook:
* to buy rebrand rights;
* a bribe where in order to get a rebranded ebook, one must join some traffic generation resources…
… because, you know, the huge amount of additional free traffic in long term could be better idea!!!

I mean this thing could go VERY viral if it’s given away but could be a money maker for lots of people if you do rebrand rights.
Your brand and your name will catapult this from being just ‘another ebook’ but I know it’ll have some Linden-isms in it as well.

Tim, you don’t really know me, but over the last few weeks, and thanks to your blog, i feel that i know you to a certain point. This blog post isn’t about me though, and i have some quite outrageous opinions on pretty much every subject. Some opinions are not liked, but i always aim to get my point across no matter how trivial or silly it may sound.
Anyway, about your e-book, if your going to make an e-book, you really need to know what is out there already. There is no point making “just another” e-book about “whatever subject”. There are, in all intents, millions of them, and every one is the ” next big secret”.
Those books out there already, are not new, nor are they secret, they are the same old jusnk from 1940′s wrapped up in a shiny new wrapper, and some are down right basic knowledge for anyone on the internet.
I alone, have over 9 gig of “secret” books and materials, most i haven’t even opened yet. I have enough to keep me busy till the “next big secret”…which is normally the next day. So your e-book will need to be something mega special, something that no-one has, or knows of, within your line of work.
Personally, i think you can teach these other books a thing or 2, as you have a bit more inside knowledge, a bit more savvy, and at least you are known and trusted, that alone is priceless.
As for re-sale rights, yes, you need to have that. That is your bread and butter, your key. As you will have the knowledge that some others don’t, you will need to either copyright it as your own, or offer re-sale rights for your copyrited work. You can’t do all this for free, as much as your kind hearted, others will gladly take advantage of it, so you need re-branding and corporate editions.
Selling ebooks – I try to stay away from that myself. I give away all I know on my website for newbies. The biggest problem with e books is not one word of help is available for free.Subjects I need help with- I would sure like to know how to put my picture on my banners and splashpages for StartExchange and others. Branding is very inportant to everybody . Please make this book cheap so everyone can afford it.$10=begnner help $20 advanced help $30 website building help. etc.Offer seval smaller versions,as we are all at different stages in learning! Also you can add a book as you finish one! Go Tim!
i def agree with Mary, because i been looking for a great books that could help expose my website more. and also give it good rank, if you could create e-books about it and sale for cheap you def have a buyer
I faced the question at the begging of the month on whether or not to sell the ebook, or give it away. In the end I decided I liked the idea of giving my readers something that had cost me 3 months to develop. I liked that I was giving something of value to them, for me it helped build trust and a relationship with them.
I hadn’t considered the “rebranding” aspect of it, but I suppose it would help it in a viral sort of way.

I think it’s a great idea your writing an e-book. You have a lot of helpful information you can share with everyone. I also think if you see good success with the e-book this might be 1 of just many you come out with :)
I’d sell resell rights. You would make some extra cash which you should for the work you put into the book. Plus you’ll give your subscribers another way they too can add money to their business.
Well I have not been around the block like most of you’s reading this, but I think a good way to let your audience participate would be to leave your link’s in there.( After all it is your material.) However let the audience (us) add a small testimonial on how Tim Linden Has helped you or your business. (also with one of there links.)

I say … sell the re-branding rights! I for one would be very excited about marketing a book filled with your years of experiences and views on traffic exchanges in particular and Internet marketing in general. Especially because I know that you are perhaps the most “no hype” marketer I know, so the info will be factual and very actionable.
As a marketer, I would appreciate having another high quality product promote to my list as I continue to build my list. Should you chose to do so… I’ll throw my hat into the ring without reservation.
