Snow Camp 2006

I went to Snow Camp this weekend, and it was great. I always enjoy going to Snow Camp.

Monadnock Bible Conference is always improving things, and here are a few new things that was there: The guys basement dorms were redone, brand spanking new tile and paint. The game room was expanded and had a new game. The pool was redone somehow (I think the roof and they had to put a new dehumidifier in) and the bathrooms leading to it are new (3 showers and they have curtains, new sinks, etc). The snack shop was open all day with slushies and hot dogs, and at certain times had a bunch of other stuff. They created a snow maker for the tubing hill.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, Andy and Todd talked to us about the things they want to do: laser tag, new mattresses, improve the rest of the dorms, form the tubing hill to have embankments that make you turn down the hill, and a new building that would have alot more couches, snack shop, basketball cage, and other cool stuff.

Besides the fun stuff that was there, we went when Dwight Knight (sp??) was speaking, and he was a very powerfull speaker. Powerfull in the way you could hear him even when the mic cut out. He also knew his stuff. The way he spoke left you with no other solution than to accept Jesus. Really it’s just truth speaking, but the way he put it together was cool.

One of the stories he told was really cool. There was a professor that was making his speal about evolution and a girl in the class told him to read Genesis if he wanted the truth. That’s all she said, but the professor later went to a book store - bought a Bible - read Genesis - and came to know the Lord. Just from a girl saying one sentence.

It was really encouraging to think that you don’t really have to say much. The girl didn’t do much, but God used that sentence to make him really want to know more.

Well it was a fun weekend, and I must get to work. I’m really digging this design.
