Stop, but don’t Quit

You hear it all the time: “Quitters… they never win.“, “Know When to Quit“, “Quit your Job”, etc.
It seems the things that aren’t productive, people won’t quit doing. But when it comes to something that IS productive, but just takes time to reap the rewards, they quit.
I stopped doing custom programming because I realized it was causing me to lose focus on my own sites. Since then I’ve been able to improve StartXchange dramatically.
People who say “Know when to Quit” should really be saying “Know when to stop”. Businesses start and stop projects all the time, but they don’t quit. Some aspects of business are just trial and error, but stopping one thing doesn’t mean you are quitting everything.
It all comes back to that business model. If you don’t have one, you won’t know what you should stop doing and what you should continue doing.

This is something that so many newbies forget (myself included). What is your business plan? What is it that you want to specialize in? promote? And what the heck are you doing adding a whole bunch of other things that don’t fit into your plan? Get back on track!!! (and track your results).
