Question and Answer Day

by Tim on March 24, 2010

I wanted to write a bit today but I really got nothing for you. So let's open this blog up for questions! You post your question, and I'll reply with my thoughts. And for some real fun if you post your question soon we might be able to discuss it LIVE on Traffic Exchange Live. (3PM-4PM EST, Weekdays)

Membership site software where can I find info on them? And are there other viable options then Launch formula marketing which has a high price tag?

Thanks,
Guy

Search for “Membership software” in Google and you’ll find a bunch. I’ve only used aMember way back when, it was OK. Easy Member Pro looks pretty good but haven’t used it.

Why did such few people comment on this?

Why did you comment twice, is the real question?

About the LFM script – if you are under the impression it is costly someone has been holding out on you.

How about free?

All who purchase either the 1st or 2nd OTO when they join my exchange get it.

If upgrading at a highly responsive TE is not for you-I can still help you- I do not believe in holding privileges from people just because they can’t upgrade everywhere.

Good luck in all your endeavors.

Doug

The script that powers your site can either make or break you, so it doesn’t hurt to look at the different ones out there, even if the prices vary ;-)

Does Google use high bounce rate as one of the criteria for positioning in search results? Can posting click tags on outbound links to lower bounce rate be characterised by google like a “black SEO” activity?

Tim March 27, 2010 at 7:51 am

They probably do, but not in the way most people think. If you search for dogs, click a link, and then hit back and click another link that I could see being used. Then they know your site isn’t likely to be very good if the person is still searching afterwards.

If you are asking about bounce rate in the meaning of putting your site into an exchange and people being there for short periods of time, no I don’t believe they are using that. Because that would require them knowing every page every person goes to. When you search they know you are there because you are on their site, but surfing they don’t know unless the sites have analytics on them.

Hi Tim,
here’s a question from a dumb Non-Techy LOL…How do you connect a file you want people to download to a webpage…say a thank you page after a purchase??
Thanks

If its a pdf file or a zip file, you can link to it like any other page and the browser will either download it or open it automatically.
