I will be moving sometime near May/June about 20 minutes souther from where I live now. The new place is a duplex and we will have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, shed, and walk-in closet.
Due to the fact that this new place will be 30 minutes away from my current Church, we will be switching Churches.
While some people are fine driving 30 minutes away to their Church - I am not. I am all about the local Church and being able to be a part of the ministries it has. The farther away from the Church you are, the less likely you'll be involved in it. And if something comes up unplanned, you'll always be 30 minutes behind.
That being said, I am really excited about this switch. Here are some of my thoughts on it:
- I'll be utilizing my gifts. I am already trusted with fixing their computer network, and will soon be hosting their website. I also put their sermons online at Ministry Talk.
- My wife will be able to get to know the people she talks to while at work.
- We'll be joining an active college group, with couples that are recently married / engaged.

Hey Tim congratulations on the move. I hope it all goes smoothly for you. You’ll do fine at WKBC.
According to the Associated Press Style Book, the word “church” is only capitalized when referring to a larger organization, such as the Roman Catholic Church, or as part of the official title, such as West Kingston Baptist Church. Most of the uses in your post called for a lowercase spelling, ie. “my current church,” “30 minutes away from church” or “the local church.”
Sorry. That was just a grammatical thing that annoyed me.
Congratulations on the move. And to quore Jeremy, I hope it all goes smoothly for you. Sometime you should give me a call. I want to talk about some things. Meanwhile, keep praying for my situation as May 20th rapidly approaches.
