New Year's Resolutions

by Tim on December 31, 2009

In the past I've never really gotten into the New Year's Resolutions things. It's because I've generally not had any idea what it was I wanted to do for the next year. I've always had one common theme: Build my business. This year is different, I've got a few specific goals in mind:

  1. Launch A Traffic Exchange - Yes, that's right, I'm launching a traffic exchange next year. I've got a brilliant idea that is just awesome. It's going to take the world by storm. It'll be the next..  traffic exchange. OK so I won't be a hype machine about it, but I am excited.
  2. Create a Photo Book - Interesting, but I've created a photo calendar for 2010 so my next step is to create a photo book. The books are harder because you need more photos, and probably some content would help too. But it's something I've always wanted to do.
  3. Get In Shape - I know, this one is on everyone's list right? Well what's the harm in putting it down. At least this way I'm not ignoring the increasing weight counter. I plan on watching Live Exercise every day and working out with them. Sometimes it's the geeky / cutting edge that gets me motivated!

There you go, pretty specific items that will all take time to deliver on. But that's good. If it only took a few days to do, then it wouldn't really be a "New Year" resolution it would be a "New Week" resolution. These things should take a good chunk of the year so I've got something to work on (on top of my already big plate =P)

I am setting a few goals, one step at a time. I have never managed to keep my resolutions, which makes me feel bad…so I ‘m not making any. Just planning on doing the best I can everyday. Hope you have a great new Year’s!!

That’s a short list :)
Sounds interesting, can’t wait to see your new exchange. Will it work with an iphone app?
As far as the exercising is concerned, we’ll see the results on TE Live (maybe you can do an excersise tuesday where Jon Olson is doing a cooking monday lol)

WOW a new Traffic Exchange, that should be interesting.

I have set a few Goals that I will be able to accomplish.
One of them of course is to exercise on a regular basis (hard for me to do)

I like your short list but can see it will require much of your time.

Happy New Year to you and your family Tim.

Hi, Tim, first of all, I fish you this night full of joy and let the New year be as productive for you, as you wish! About your new exchange, i will join on it’s launch day… Just a recommendation from me as a user- i would be more satisfied if there won’t be 3:1 surf ratio! Another good idea would be let’s say 3-5 referral levels… All the best and be well!

I already had one video show in a real theater – animated – but I want to make a doc that shows too. So since you called me out – so to speak – that is my goal; to do the downtown murders and put a face on the victems

As far as new years resolutions yea, I have a couple of those. But, I already forgot what they were. lol

guess I’m right on track then!

Happy New Year

Great to have goals, Tim. Clue us all in on the new TE. How about something with cash for surfing?
My goals include dropping 15 lbs. before my annual physical in Feb. and
surfing more in fewer TE’s.
Also, I am working on becoming more involved in Twitter and social networking.

Hello Tim and I wish you a very happy new year! Your content is awesome and I enjoy your near daily posts, so please keep up the great work. Internet marketing is not easy by any means in the beginning (at least for most!) I really learn a ton from you!
My News Years resolution for 2010 is to stay focused and use my time wisely, It is very easy to get sidetracked so to speak, so utilizing my time more efficiently is my New Years resolution.
Also, a quick question, my sound stupid but can you tell me how to link to your blog?
Good luck in 2010!
I look forward to more great content. Lets all learn to earn together

I stopped making new years resolutions in my early twenties

Everyone breaks them they are pointless.

Stetting goals is another thing and can be done any time. Don’t beat yourself up if outside things like illness prevent you from reaching them. Just start again.

A calender is an artificial thing there are lots of different ones. Starting at different times of the year.

The best thing (next to having no boss but yourself) about working on the internet is you can ignore the clock and the calender.

Only family and close friends give you it back so don’t forget anyones birthday and give the family their meals on time.

Perhaps those two should be my new years resolutions.

Hi Tim,

Great New Year’s resolutions! Some very good goals to have.

A new TE next year huh…well it will be great to see what you have in store for everyone. Being a TE Owner myself I like to see what others are doing.

I don’t make resolutions myself. I just consistently try to do my best, help as many people as I can in the process and do what is right with God…that’s first and foremost for me.

I wish you and your family a very Happy New Year. I wish the same for everyone else as well. May the New Year bring you all peace, joy, love and happiness, Make it a safe one too!

Tim -

I wanted to comment on your resolutions post, you have a great set of goals for a couple of reasons.

First, I like that you have chosen to share something from your business, your passion and your personal self improvement goal.

Secondly, I love that you are going to push the envelope with another TE. I really have found that StartXchange is the most comprehensive and innovative exchange that I have used. So, I am interested in seeing what you have coming in 2010.

I am a big believer in fueling ones passions. I have personally done this in motor-sports and cycling, so I know that in doing so all aspects of your life improves. Keep us posted on your book.

I appreciate your level of professionalism, approach and dedication to the TE industry.

Best wishes and every blessing with all of your endeavors in the New Year!

I stopped making New Years lies I mean resolutions years ago. Rarely was I able to keep them going past the first few weeks so I figured it’s best to quit telling myself and everyone else little white lies and just take one day at a time and strive to make myself the best I can all year long.

Looking to foward to your new traffic exchange. Knowing you as I have the last 7 or so years I know it will be something unique and different from anything out there currently and I wish you much success with your new exchange. You are not the kind of person to release a clone exchange and I can only imagine that this will be exicting stuff.

Have a wonderful healthy and happy New Year for you and your beautiful family.

Bert Daniels December 31, 2009 at 10:30 pm

Happy New Years Tim. I hope the new year blesses you and your family as much as you do ours.

Lori January 1, 2010 at 12:42 pm

Hey Tim
Happy new year hope you manage to meet your new goals.
I had set some new year goals but my main goal was to finally just follow through on what I have been trying to do on the internet for years.
Have already created a facebook, myspace and now twitter accounts all in the past week:):)
Need to tweak them some more but its finally a start on my follow through.

Jean Kopinski January 1, 2010 at 6:33 pm

Well your goals are about the same as mine except I want to JOIN your traffic exchange. Let me know when and I’ll be there. I’m also trying to get myself a little more organized so I can be the STAY AT HOME wife and caregiver.

Good Luck to everyone this year and let’s work together to suceed,

Jean
