Today at Awanas I witnessed two cool things. The first one, a boy asked me if there was any way he could get a book without having the money for one. Then a little bit later a girl came over and asked me how much a book costs, and then asked if she could buy a book for the boy who didn't have the money. It was great to see that she knew she had the money, and without hesitation wanted to buy him that book. Something we can all learn from in the giving category.
Next a girl was talking to another girl about memorizing scripture. I'm not sure who she was talking about, I think it was her dad but I only heard part of it. Basically she was explaining to her friend that when they memorize they should memorize it so they can remember it later on, not just quickly remember it after looking at it. She said that you should be able to memorize it then run around and jump up and down and then still be able to recite it without looking again. I thought it was cool how they were sharing ideas and helping each other out with memorizing verses. Something we also can learn to do, help each other instead of pointing out our faults.
