I’m still here

My last post was about 15 days ago. I wanted to give all my valued subscribers an update on what I’ve been doing lately. I’ve been thinking about what to post next, but haven’t had the time to do anything really in depth or interesting, so I hope this lame one doesn’t get me too much hate mail =P
Basically I’ve been working on the StartXchange surfbar. The problem I’m trying to figure out, is the surfbar timer sticking. It seems to do it randomly, and I can’t figure out what the cause is. I’ve tried numerous different changes - rewriting the javascript over 9 times. It is most difficult because I’m not getting it stuck as much before, so I have to get input on others when it happens to them.
Other than that, I’ve been drinking lots of coffee and trying not to pull my hair out. It totally bugs me when you can’t surf fast and trouble free, so this is my top priority. I’ve even had a couple other programmers look at it, and they don’t see the problem either.
If I don’t find a fix by the end of the week, I might be going to a javascript free countdown, using an image countdown instead. The problem with that is the image will have to always be visible, so the goal countdown would have to be moved or re-moved. Something I don’t want to do as I like the current layout.
So that’s it. I’ve been thinking about writing about that whole downline integrity thing. Do you even care what I think about that topic, or are you all tired of the debates?

Tim it seems to me that the timer sticks when the page is real content rich like a load of graphics or a movie.
I would be interested in your comments on downline integrity.

I would agree with Mark about timer, but… who knows…
I believe I’m not plugged enough on that whole ‘downline integrity’ thing, so I’d like to hear your comments, too. I’ve only seen that ‘D.I. Brigade’-splash, everywhere, many, many times, but still don’t understand - what’s the catch anyway?
And if it is so good move or useful action, why S.X. and Tim aren’t there, altogether with these couple of minor T.E.’s plus Rob’s bunch of them?

Where I seem to see the sticking most is when the page loaded also contains a lot of javascript… could they be causing resource allocation problems, and your script hanging as a result?
I would indeed be interested in learning your opinions on this downline integrity.

The only debate I’m tired of is the presidential…lol You will work it all out Tim, you do a great job of taking care of everything for us ;)

I really like the current setup so I hope you can fix what you want without having to change a lot.
Like the others, the timer seems to stop moving when there is a “busy” page, like the full ads that are unsplashy looking. Heh, I think I just made up a word. :)

I have an idea of what it could be, though I am not sure …

Thanks for the input all! I forgot I posted recently so it was a nice surprise to see all the comments =P
