Critique My Site

Well I will be posting this site in various forums, but I’d like my readers to also critique it. The design I am using isn’t mine, it’s really an “out of the box” template I changed a bit. So a few questions for you:

  • Is it easy for you to read the posts?
  • Does it feel cluttered or well organized?
  • Have you seen anyone else using this template?
  • Do the ads add to the site or detract?

Of course give me any input you have, I’d like to know about it. I’ve posted in the following forums:

    Tim,

    I think your site looks good. I have seen the template before, but I don’t think someone was using it. I may have just seen the template when doing a template search for my site.

    * Is it easy for you to read the posts?
    Yes.

    * Does it feel cluttered or well organized?
    It seems to be weel orgainzed. One area of the site does feel a little cluttered to me. The area between posts seems kind of choppy (just my opinion). I think the “[Back to Top]” link is what seems to chop it up. Although I do like that option.

    * Do the ads add to the site or detract?
    I don’t think ads in general discract, but I do feel that the ad placement (only the top one) you have is a little distracting. The main reason I feel this way, is that the ads at the top are the very first thing a user sees. I think the ads on the side are perfectly fine and will be adding some to my site as soon as I can figure out how. I think increasing the size of your logo/banner, in place of the top ad would ad a lot to the site.

    Again, these are just my opinions and I am very new to IM, so take it for what its worth.

    Hey Tim
    Site seems clean and clear to me. Very easy to read. I am an active member of StartExchange and Love it. Just started my own blog and can relate to the template thing. I’m not real good at changing templates, so go with the “norm”. This one is cool tho, keep posting.
