College OverRated?

It seems like the thing to do, but is college really worth it? What if I end up graduating, but still end up working for myself. That would be $100,000 wasted. But what if I end up dropping college, and end up trying to find work because the internet work isn’t enough? Too bad we don’t get a little sticky when we are born saying “You’ll need a degree in :this: to live comfortably”. Maybe what I’ll do is graduate, get a job, work work work, save up lots of money, and retire early and continue programming. Then I’ll be in like ’sorta retirement’, and I’ll have more time for family. I also don’t want to get into a job and be working 24/7. At least working at home 24/7 I’m still home and there for my family, but 24/7 at some office = lonely wife. Maybe I’ll work for a school department. Now there is an idea. 8-3 job ROFL.
