Brand New Week

by Tim on September 21, 2009

Most people I know dread Mondays, because it's back to work day. But for me I look at it as a brand new week. A new start to get things done, to be productive, and make some money.

Typically my week by Friday has become disastrous, and I'm off track from what I planned on doing. I suppose that's what having two little kids running around does to you. But in any event, I love having Mondays and being able to put down what I want to get done for the week. Whether or not it gets done, it's nice thinking that it'll all get done.

Problem is, that list gets really really really big =P

AMEN! I know the feeling! It’s so hard to focus sometime! I have a 7 and 11 year old and work 12:30-9 M-Sat with Wed/Sun off! It is tough to find ANY time to work on the PC, and when I do, it’s hard to get focused! Thanks for being honest!

Oh How I love Mondays starting with a clean sheet I feel Tim is writing about me except I have one 15 year old boy who needs 10 times more attention than when he was a little ( he’s six foot tall now) and there are just the two of us.

I also understand what he means about Friday but often it comes earlier.

Wednesday 9th I wrote MUST do today! 9 items. Some should have taken minutes and not all were business.

By the end of the day the list was 13 items and none were done.

Thankfully not only did I find someone to fix the washing machine it was done this morning and a couple of other things have been done.

Monday morning again and it is still 9 items all business.

I have attempted one five times. Why does no one else work 7 days a week?

They are all similar and it’s my fault it gets longer.

Yes Tim I finally got a tracker with lots of special extras that seem designed just for me so sorry it was not TE Tool Box.

Oh I love Monday Mornings always have done and always will.

I stopped working a standard week when I left school.

I love any new day but these days I am not sure when they start.
GMT, EST, Central Time or whatever.

I love Thursdays. LOVE Thursdays! I guess the anticipation of the weekend being right around the corner.

I try to start every day off fresh. My thoughts being…today’s the day. But, it rarely seems to work out that way. I always seem to get side-tracked, but I guess that’s life.

You need a desk dayplanner. They look better than sticky notes.
Start each day with prayer. Do the ones you are not crazy about first. “Must do every day” things come last. Works for me.

I always hated Mondays – I was known, throughout my career, whatever the organization I worked with, as the man who would avoid Monday working when ever possible.

I would never call in sick, just to make that clear, but I would use my accrued hours and/or my leave (holiday) entitlement to take a Monday off work when ever I could.

I used to love a long weekend away from the office, or workplace.

Now that I don’t have a JOB (Just Over Broke – as some smart asses describe it), I’m inclined to think more in the vein that Tim describes.

Mondays don’t bother me any more … but you still have to make sure that the income is continuing to come in … whatever day it is.

When I had a salary (regular wage), that was not an issue. Now that I don’t have a salary, it is, or could be an issue, as you have to earn your money in a different way and it takes some time to get used to a different method of earning.

Your own independent income though, is still better than a dependent paid (salaried/wage) JOB IMHO.

Just my thoughts,

Jeff.

I feel you on that! I have two kids as well, 3 and 1. I simply layout a plan but it seems to never get done by the end of the weekend. I also take Internet Marketing course’s at WealthyAffiliates and have four major sites I’m trying to send traffic too with out busting the bank wide open. I’ve learn a lot but I would never call myself a TE pro. I literally have to wash cloths, dishes, sweep, mop, cut grass, and study for both Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division and WealthyAffiliates.

I do love Monday’s as you mentioned above.

Sincerely,
George E. Sargent

Yes I do agree with the Mondays. But don’t it just seems like things go slower and you make more mistakes during the day that you can usually due with your eyes closed thru the week?
