People always talk about building a list, and how it works great and you should do it. But how many tell you anything more than that? I don't know, but I'm about to tell you more.
One of the things promoted to every person who subscribed to my blog is The Pizza Plan. It's an ebook by Jon Olson talking about how he went from flipping pizzas to working online. It's straight forward, simple, and free. So if you don't have a copy, go get one!
So the question is, how do I profit from giving away a free ebook? It's simple, everyone can download it free but you have to pay if you want a copy of the ebook with your referral links in it. Makes it really easy to build downlines in the programs mentioned because people are learning about them in one spot.
Now how many people do you think would actually pay for that? Many, actually. I've earned $1463 so far from giving away this free ebook. Now half of that was the initial launch, because nobody on my list had heard about it previously. The other half is from being in my auto responder.
I'll be honest, that isn't enough income to quit your day job. But it is enough to pay for your hosting and auto-responder. And on top of that direct income, I've indirectly made commissions from sales through the services mentioned in the ebook.
For instance Traffic Wave is mentioned in the ebook. People who don't have an auto-responder and are learning about them are very likely to click the link, learn about it, and sign up. Now I don't have any way to know how many signed up to it from The Pizza Plan, but that doesn't matter so much.
What matters is when you take The Pizza Plan, and the other products and services I really believe in and promote, it all combines into a nice income. And it's all possible because I use an auto-responder. If I promoted The Pizza Plan directly, I wouldn't be able to then promote any other service to you later. Having a list lets me tell you about them until you unsubscribe (which my goal is never =P)
So do me a favor now and go get a copy of The Pizza Plan, then buy the resell rights, and promote it to your list. Even if you haven't started getting subscribers it's a great thing to have in your auto-responder series because 1) it's straight to the point 2) Jon updates the ebook so it stays current.

Tim thanks for posting this info about the Pizza Plan. I’ve got to go back a take another look at my downloaded copy, completely forgot about it actually. I think it got buried under the flurry of other ebooks that keep filling my inbox.
thanks again
Thanks Tim,
Viral Marketing is so simple to do, yet not many do it.
Rebranding Free ebooks is also a great way to build your list along with making a few bucks.
You don’t have tpo get it right, you just have to get it going!
Make sure to put a few promotions on the confirmation page and your download pages as well.
Hosting accounts can be very affordable. As little as 5.00 a month, sure there are free ones but if you want to make cash on line, you will eventually have to give in and spend a few bucks.
Get a nice domain name for less than 10.00 and you are on your way.
Thanks again Tim, Nice post

Excellent post about the basics!
Jon’s Pizza Plan is a GREAT way for a marketer to get started, doing the right things, the right way, for very little money.
After that, it is simply… “rinse and repeat”… lol
Everybody should grab a copy and “rebrand” this easy seller!

Yeah the pizza plan is great! I use it on one of my auto responders
and get lots of sign ups from the programs listed in the ebook. :)

Hello, Thanks for the script to invite friends to pages…
Do you now of a script to select someone else’s all friends when “adding as friends”?
Thanks!
I downloaded this e-book a few months ago, but it had so many typos and misplaced punctuation marks that it was nearly unreadable. None of the links were affiliate links, but the home pages of Jon’s websites, so it wasn’t a “re-branded” version of the e-book. The concept is a great idea, but I personally would not use this particular book as a free give-away item. I’m not here to bash Jon, because if you look at the quality and professionalism of the sites and projects he has released in the last few years, he has certainly come a long way from the Pizza Plan. Sweeva is a prime example and just goes to prove that Jon is a top-notch marketer, program designer, and businessman.
Mark, appreciate the feedback.
This is the first time in 3 years someone has told me the Pizza Plan was unreadable. I do admit, I don’t really care too much about proper grammar, etc…Because I have always written like I talk. Something I learned from some of my favorite authors in the business world and as they always say…..I have never met any millionaire English teachers…. ;)
I liked what Jon said, it was a pretty good come back. It also made me chuckle a little, because he’s right. I find myself wishing I knew you guys in person…Tim Linden and Jon Olsen. You are some powerful figures in network marketing. My self I’m just a newbie you might say, trying to do what you have already done.
I really like this blog Tim…I’m going to have to read alot more of it, because you mentioned many things in which I’ve wanted to know more about, but hasn’t had the time to research them. But it’s all here, just waited for me to gether it up…Great.
And I do have the pizza plan…now I guess I’ll have to read it… :).
Thank you for taking my comments in the spirit that they were intended Jon. I’m not aware of any millionaire English teachers either. :-) Perhaps they were just running a sale on commas that week.
Oh absolutely, I know and I’m the first one to admit I SUCK at spelling and proper grammar, punctuation, etc….Wasn’t much of a school boy =) lol
Downloaded the book a few days ago and its a great read and very easy to follow. Thanks Jon.
