Safelists

Wow, Safelists are Terrible..

by Tim on April 1, 2010

..at not working! Oh, did that title mislead you =P I just think it's funny that so many people will say traffic exchanges and safelists don't work. Well here's the deal, I took my Orange Splash Page that I use in traffic exchanges, and used it for Safelists.

I've only actually used AdTactics so far, I have a few other safelists but I had to wait before I could mail again with this page. The title I used was: "Is AdTactis letting you down?". (yes, I'm realizing now there was a typo..)

Hi

Are you having trouble getting results from AdTactics? Tired of getting clicks, but not any sales?

Maybe it's time you learn how to use AdTactics effectively. A few simple things can be the difference between results and no results.

I've got almost 10,000 subscribers to my blog already. They are loving it too. I get great feedback all the time.

All you gotta do is enter your name & email into the form, and you're good to go! I'll do my best to help you get the results you want from AdTactics, and other safelists/traffic exchanges!

Tim Linden

That's the email I sent. Only I put my tracking link instead of the direct link like that. The reason I put the link in multiple times, I believe it was Soren Jordansen that mentioned putting the link in multiple times increases the number of clicks. It could have been Paul Kinder too, I don't remember 100%. Those two guys know their stuff on writing emails =P

Now the results? 25 clicks and 2 subscribers. Not bad ;-) While two subscribers might not seem like alot, it's 365 subscribers a year (you can mail every other day as a free member). 30 a month.

They say each subscriber is worth about $1/month if you monetize your list right (oh boy, I sooo am not making $10/month from this blog LOL!!!). So if you do that, from AdTactics alone you could be increasing your income by $30 every month.

That's the real power by building a list. You take all these advertising streams and feed your list. That list grows and so does your income. Even if you lose 50% (I 've lost 20% over a few years on this blog) of your subscribers every month, you still are keeping recurring subscribers.

If you thought my goal was to reach 10,000 subscribers you'd be wrong. I started advertising my blog because I wanted to get 100 subscribers. I thought that would be ridiculous! As I continued to try different things I realized it wasn't hard at all. You just need too keep doing it, no matter how boring it is to click or write emails or whatever other methods you use.

Deleting Old Safelist Emails

by Tim on November 3, 2009

Just a quick tip for you. Obviously with the thousands of emails safelists will send you, it can get overwhelming. And since the links in the credit based ones do expire, you won't need them even if you will go back to them at a later date.

So what's there to do?

If you use Gmail, it's easy.  Normally you would either use a separate gmail account altogether, or create labels. If that's you, this'll make it a breeze:

  1. Select the label
  2. In the Search Mail form, add the following: " before:2009/11/01" and hit search
  3. Click Select: ALL, Then click the bigger link that appears "Select all conversations that match..", Click Delete (and OK to confirm)

Ding! You've cleared them out! Just remember to change 2009/11/01 with the date from a week ago. I talked to one safelist owner and he said they expire after 7 days. Most likely they are all like that, but if not you can easily tune it.

How many emails?

November 2, 2009

So I'm starting to use Safelists now. I wouldn't quite say I got them down yet, but I think I got the gist of it. Very much like a traffic exchange. The biggest concern I had before using them was the amount of emails. I had no idea how many I'd get. And I thought [...]

My thoughts on Safelists and Listbuilders

October 28, 2009

Yesterday Mike and Bill launched List Building Maximizer, a new list builder. I haven't spent much time on list builders before, I've been too busy running my own programs to be honest. But since there was this new launch, I decided to check a few I've joined in the past and see what the whole [...]
