Traffic Wave Review

by Tim on July 27, 2010

It's about time to do an official Traffic Wave Review. I have been using Traffic Wave for a few months now, and I've learned about the pro's and con's to it. Here's what I've found:

Traffic Wave is a flat-rate auto-responder, meaning you pay a monthly fee and it does not increase as you get more subscribers. This is one of the main reasons people use it, as your costs won't go up.

As a result of the lower pricing, the features are lower compared to other auto-responders as well. You won't find a way to enter in your RSS feed to automatically email about new posts, and you won't find crazy graphs or ways to email to segments of your list.

This can be both a pro and a con, because many people find all those extra features more confusing. If you want a straight up auto-responder, Traffic Wave is really easy to use. If you are a power user and want those features, you'll have to pay the price with a high end AR.

There are a few cool features that Traffic Wave has over other auto-responders. My favorite is the fact that you can pass the Thank you page url AND the Confirmation page url. So if you want to give away a free ebook, but only to people who actually confirm their subscription to your list, it's super easy. Other AR's only have one set confirmation URL so you have to constantly change the URL to prevent people from passing it around.

The other feature is the whole matrix payment plan thing. It's an MLM, so people get really excited about that part. I don't, because in all honesty I make way more from just a few referrals on another AR than I do with close to 100 in Traffic Wave. And this MLM doesn't make my list any bigger..

The only pet peeve I have about Traffic Wave is that the way messages are saved. You have to create a message, save it, and then go to the subscribers page, select it, and then hit send. It's an extra step that other AR's don't have. They separate the follow up messages with the broadcast messages. Not a deal breaker, but it's a simple thing that I was used to that bugs me every time I go to send out an email.

Other than that, I haven't had any issues with Traffic Wave. Like any other auto-responder it has it's ups and downs when it comes to getting the mail out. In general I've gotten them out instantly, only a few times did it take a while to go out.

So there you have it, my official review is now done. If you haven't signed up yet, go sign up they give you a 30 day trial.

Review of IM faceplate

by Tim on July 7, 2010

A few days ago IM faceplate was launched by the Logiscape guys and I wanted to do a full review for it now. If you haven't yet, go check it out and sign up. It's free so there's no harm (and if it stays a hit there will be big benefits).

The concept: Rather than having a profile page like Facebook or Twitter where you have no control, you have a faceplate which you control completely. And rather than having to add all your content to the site itself, you link up your Youtube and Twitter accounts and have the content published on your faceplate.

It's really great, because it's not meant to replace every other site so you don't have to spend as much time updating the content on it. Unfortunately it also means it lacks some of the social interactions that could make it a big deal.

For instance the ability to shout is essentially posting to your Facebook profile or Twitter Tweets, but unlike those sites you can only have one shout. So to shout again you have to clear the old one and then add another. On top of that, you can't reply to other people's shouts.

I really think being able to reply to people and socialize in that way would highly add to the site. The reason other social sites are a hit is because of the easy ways to socialize. That's the key.

I'm also a bit disappointed that the rest of the site isn't done. I don't see the point in having a section put out there with a big under construction sign. I'm big on adding new features after launch, but making sections that are included in the upgrade offer which aren't completed is kinda lame. I'm really hoping they finish them soon.

So there you have it, my review. If you have any other suggestions please add them to my article on IM faceplate. Be sure to like it as well, so more people can find it. If you think the site has potential, let's help Logiscape make it reach that potential!

Lords-Of-Traffic Review

Lords of Traffic is run by Kjell Skogsoey. I would say Kjell is in the controversial category as an owner, as there seems to be some disagreements between him and other owners. Find Traffic Review

July 30, 2008

Find Traffic is a new exchange by Noah Whitmore. Beleive it or not, it's powered by the Walker Traffic Exchange Script. I think he's done a great job of customizing it so it doesn't look out of the box. While at the time of this writing I can't say how good or bad the results [...]

Blue Surf is a relatively new traffic exchange by Scott Martin. He's a new guy on the block and is a programmer like myself. You can tell right from the start this isn't an out of the box script. It's completely custom built. I may be a little biased, but I always like it when [...]
