So I've received a ton of mugs from readers and shown them off. Unfortunately I'm learning that not all mugs are created equal. Some are fading away, while others stay nice and bold.

The key player here seems to be the mugs with the "Orca Coating" are winning the fading battle, and the ones without are losing terribly. Whats even more confusing is two mugs from Zazzle: the smaller has the coating, the larger does not.

Now I could be mixing it up, but so far it seems the ones from CafePress are lasting the longest, and the ones from Zazzle are mixed results.

What's really disappointing is the mug I received from EasyHits4U is fading. I mean of all the mugs, that one was the best because they are the biggest exchange and more importantly, Jon Olson hasn't received a mug from them. But if it fades, where's my proof?

This week I'm going on vacation with my family. I chose this week conveniently because Jon is already away so I figured we'd be getting less work done this week anyways, so might as well go now. Justin will be holding the fort down. Then when I get back we plan on doing something crazy before Jon gets back!

My challenge for you if you haven't already is to send me a mug! Especially if you are a traffic exchange owner. I know it sounds silly, but something as simple as sending someone a mug can go a long way. Everyone subscribed will get to see it, and I'll even link to your exchange. It's win win.

I'll be honest here, since Jon responded to my post I'm really trying to beat him on the mug count. But unlike Jon, I don't count mugs advertising my own site or mugs I bought. That's just trying to pad the numbers. So help me out and send me a mug! Oh, and if you have sent me a mug - I have a few that I haven't done a video yet. I won't forget, don't worry! I've been using them but I don't want to post a lame video just for the sake of showing off a mug, I'd rather you get your mug in front of something exciting that gets people talking about the video ;-)

I'm officially starting Free Stuff Friday here on my blog. It's where you send me free stuff, with your logo of course, and I showcase it here on the blog. We get to have fun with it, and you get publicity. Pretty sweet right?

First up is the ThumbVu Bear. OK so I realize now that you don't see the logo from these shots, so I included the banner.. But you see how my kids are already loving it. So hat's off to John Guanzon for that! And yes there have been disagreements over who gets to hold the bear..

What is ThumbVu? Well it's a traffic exchange where you view thumbnails before seeing the site. You essentially get to pick which site you want to full view which is great for finding sites you haven't seen before. And it's even greater if you figure out how to get your photo to show in it.. (see right =P)

The benefit to this is that you get branding even if your site isn't shown. It's been proven over and over that repetition in advertising gets you better results so this gives you more repetition without costing anything.

As a bonus I created this video in a splash page, and I'm currently using it to advertise my blog. I'll have to post later results on it for you guys to see. Will be interesting to say the least!
