Trying that exercise thing out 7

Well I feel like crap lately and I know why. I sit around all day. When I’m at work, I’m sitting. When I’m done work I’m watching the kids, while sitting. When we go somewhere, I’m sitting. Lots of that.

So what I did is I bought a Heart Rate Monitor and I decided I’m going to do 30 minutes of activity every morning when the baby wakes up. I don’t know why, but I don’t like jogging without the stroller in front of me. I feel naked.

Now I could have just started doing this a while ago, but I bought a gadget. That’s because 1) I like gadgets and 2) it forces me to push myself more.

I tried it out, and it was actually pretty great. I found an app on my phone to tell me my target heart rate range, and I basically jogged when my heart rate was getting low and walked when I was at the top of the range.

As I become more fit it will become harder to stay in that range so I’ll have to move more. Which is nice that it will just gradually happen as I get more fit, and I don’t have to remember anything other than stay in that range.

I’m hoping this will work, because these past few days have been just bad. Now I’m not going to be like Jon and start a separate blog about it so you’ll have to just hear about it here!

I’m really glad that the health topic is starting to pick up some buzz in the TimTech crew.

I used to play sports occasionally and jogged regularly but I stopped doing both and now not only I’ve gained weight but I also feel like crap a lot of times.

Time to recover some of that health back for me as well and congrats for taking action upon that Tim.

Maybe if you build physical fitness into the Sitizens quests, everyone would start working on their health. Crests for miles walked anyone?

Nice blog post… About 8 months ago my Doctor told me I was border line diabetic.. So I got real serious about weight loss and watching my carbohydrates…

I exercise 11 minutes every day on my Elliptical usually in the morning right after I get up… Doing this and keeping my carbs to 75 per meal I have lost over 35 pounds.. I eat no bread at all. I good book I would recommend is “Wheat Bellies”

I gave up diet Coke (well went from 5 per day, and no other liquids at all to one per day) and replaced the fluid with water. Lost 15 pounds in a month without even trying and can walk better now so getting more exercise

Exercise can do wonders. Being more healthy will lead to increased production and better concentration. Just don`t sprain an ankle or something.
Anyway, I was trying to access the link to your Orange secrets book below but my browser is unable to load the page, I just thought I`d tell you.

I understand the whole gadget thing, Tim. I’m that way, too. That’s why I bought a pedometer. It motivates me to walk more.
