Offensive or Opportunity 6

The last post I made someone got offended by the wording. Patrick’s last post people got offended. It seems people are easily offended.

I know Patrick pretty well, and I know it doesn’t make his day to go around offending people. But writing my own blog posts I know that sometimes you need to use language that provokes thoughts.

I’d encourage you when you are offended by a blog post to not rage with anger but instead look at the opportunity to grow. Not everything I say will work for you. Not everything I say will make sense for you to do. But you can still use those thoughts and reflect on your own business or your own life.

So if you find this post offensive, realize I’m not trying to offend anyone. I want you to think, grow, and excel. You can ask the guys, I don’t get offended or take it personal if you disagree so don’t view it as an attack. Feel free to discuss it and provide your point of view, and get us all thinking some more.

    I have been trashed and put down by plenty of people on and off-line, I don’t let it bother me – I am who I am, some people will agree with me, some people will not. It is a fact of life, so why stress if someone holds a different point of view to you? Try to understand them and their view, its how we learn, but ultimately respect peoples individuality – its the way we are :)

    And no, this is not a criticism of Tim – you know me from a way back :)

    I think you covered your position well, if people are still offended they need to chill out. Personally I think you`re very upfront and fair with people, don`t take it personally some people just like to be a pain sometimes because it makes them feel bigger than they really are.

    Great post Tim.

    If your offended,maybe you need to look a little deeper at your point of view and consider changing your opinion and like Tim said,grow and learn.

    You are quite right – I don’t get any pleasure from offending people.
    However I have learned that if you have a blog then, from time to time, you are going to offend people.
    Like you say some people are more easily offended than others.
    It is just a fact of life.
