So I’ve received a ton of mugs from readers and shown them off. Unfortunately I’m learning that not all mugs are created equal. Some are fading away, while others stay nice and bold.
The key player here seems to be the mugs with the “Orca Coating” are winning the fading battle, and the ones without are losing terribly. Whats even more confusing is two mugs from Zazzle: the smaller has the coating, the larger does not.
Now I could be mixing it up, but so far it seems the ones from CafePress are lasting the longest, and the ones from Zazzle are mixed results.
What’s really disappointing is the mug I received from EasyHits4U is fading. I mean of all the mugs, that one was the best because they are the biggest exchange and more importantly, Jon Olson hasn’t received a mug from them. But if it fades, where’s my proof?
Take pictures of them, Tim! That way you have an added visual proof. And if the print fades, it only goes to show you’re using the mug/s. ^_^
Have a great week!

Yeah I still don’t believe it.
I say you copied the image and pasted it on a mug. The old ‘tape and glue’ trick LOL
Hey Tim -
Remember those mugs that where blank and then when you filled them with something hot the image magically appeared … woow!
Here is a cool idea. You should line up your mugs and shoot a photo of the collection and share it on your blog, your readers can vote their favorite.
Have a blessed week!
James
Now, this is what blogging is all about, keeping the readers informed with the most up to date content and that is why we admire you so much, Tim. Not only do you go out of your way to write about what matters, invariably you can teach us a thing or two about mugs.
Whenever someone does finally send me a mug one day, maybe I will just never use it, avoiding the dreaded fading dishwasher, keeping it up on a nice safe shelf for all to see it in it’s full, bold and colorful glory…:)
Hey Tim,
I have set up a store at Printfection.com (but haven’t ordered anything from them yet… (Yes Jon, I DO remember that I owe you a mug ;0) ) I was wondering if you have any experience with them or if anybody else may have used them and could tell me what they thought of the quality?
I haven’t put the storefront live yet as I have been wondering which was better but have heard good things about Cafepress. I haven’t seen anything that mentions coating at Printfection other than “glossy finish)…
Anybody have any thoughts or experience with Printfection or any of the others that are out there? Price is a consideration however, quality is important!
Just an update… I contacted Printfection and asked them about their coating and they replied that it is Orca. So I am going to stick with them for now… looks like I need to integrate my store front at Lucid and place an order ;0)
Hi Tim Sir
As Rosyel mentioned picture can be ab great way to back them up
Thanks
Hey Tim,
I can’t remember if I sent you a regular or a large mug?
If I did send you a large one, is that the one that’s fading?
Ok maybe I need to order just the regular mugs from zazzle
and or use cafepress.
@James I like that idea, line them all up with a picture and post it for all to see, Hey maybe we could get Jon to do the same. hehe.
Yours was a large mug and doesn’t appear to be fading. Which service did you use? I can’t remember now so many of them lol
I have a mug collection from all over the world. Never put them in the dishwasher, even if it says it is o.k.
Get a picture of your collection.Let us vote on it. That would be fun.
Hey Tim
Let Marlene aka Bartendermo (Mo) mug you with an original cafepress thetrafficdance mug. It is quality and when Mo hits you with it , it is with the power of an orca (Orcinus orca). lol
