Aweber & FeedBurner

As you probably know already, I use Aweber to send out emails when my blog is updated. And some will know that I use FeedBurner for my feeds.

FeedBurner has this feature that lets you display how many subscribers are subscribed to your blog. It does this by listening to the readers that grab the feed. In the request, they tell it how many are subscribed, and then it adds them all up.

The problem for me is Aweber doesn’t. So FeedBurner just counts Aweber as one subscriber. Well when you’ve got 1,000s of subscribers on Aweber, it can be sad to see them only counted as one.

So I propose if you have Aweber, and you use it to send out emails when your blog is updated (or even if you don’t =P), contact support and request the feature! It is a simple thing to add.

I’ve already contacted support, they said they’d forward it to the people higher up. I figure if multiple people ask, we’ll get it sooner. Then we can all proudly show the number of subscribers on our blog. But until then, I’m not going to make all my subscribers think they are the only ones subscribing!

(Disclaimer: The StartXchange Blog has 1000s, but this blog doesn’t. It does have over 100 though ;-)
