How To Track Your Results

You hear about it all over the Hit Exchange industry. Track your results! But how in the world do you actually do it?

Method 1: TEtoolbox

For those who are completely new at it, I would recommend TEtoolbox. You can create splash pages and it automatically will track the clicks for you. The splash page creator is much like how you’d write an email or use a text editor, and there are even over 6000 clip art images you can use.

Method 2: Tracking Links

This method is for more advanced users. Once you’ve got the hang of method 1, I’d recommend trying out Method 2. You can get more information using tracking links. The process is fairly simple. When you create your splash pages they have links to your website. Instead of linking directly to the website, you create a tracking link. The tracking link will send the user to the same website, but after collecting some information.

If your splash page has 3 different links to the same page, you can use the same tracking link or create a seperate tracking link for each of them. This is usefull if you want to know which of the 3 links is getting users to your site. Having this additional information can help you in designing better splash pages.

Method 3: Analytical Statistics

This is the method I personally use for StartXchange. I use Google Analytics to track everything you can imagine about every page on my site. It has it’s good and bad. The best thing about this for me is I can track all the stats in one place, and once it is setup I don’t have to mess with tracking links every time I create a new splash page. This is essential for me because the links on the StartXchange splash pages are unique for each user using them. That is because each link contains their username in the referral link.
