Give Praise, even to Enemies

Here is a tip for you: Give praise and encouragement to the people you come into contact with, even if you feel they are your enemy! (or competitor)

Being successful is largely affected by the people you come in contact with. If you are always putting down someone, or always being negative, people won’t want to work with you. However the opposite also happens, if people find they can get positive criticism from you, they’ll likely trust you more.

Now when I talk about giving praise, don’t just kiss up to people. But next time you see someone asking for advice or opinions, really take a step back and forget any nonsense that has happened in the past, and give them your advice. Remember to always point out what you like about what they are doing, along with any pointers to help them along.

Not only can this make the person trust you, and use or promote your interests more, but if this is in a public place like a forum - people will notice.

Now most people reading this blog will already do this, however I wrote “even to Enemies” because all too often I’ll see people who are really friendly attack or bash someone they clash with. That can make me wonder if I ever do anything they don’t like, if they’ll attack or bash me.

Well that’s all I have on this topic. Some of this stuff is really simple, but sometimes we need a quick reminder here and there about these things ;-)
